Multicultural Advisory Panel
At Polaron, we are committed to the principle of valuing cultural diversity. We believe that people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are not homogenous and the Australian community is made up of many different cultural and ethnic groups, with considerable diversity within each. We believe that asking people about what they want is key to engagement and effective communication. When seeking feedback, we can focus on health, legal or any other resources requiring peer review or community approval.
Polaron’s Multicultural Advisory Panel is comprised of leaders from culturally, religiously, ethnically and linguistically diverse communities and their representative organisations. Established by Polaron in 2013 with the aim of improving community outcomes for diverse Australians, the Panel provides direct grassroot response, advice, guidance and feedback about the quality and effectiveness of language services provided by Polaron. It also assists with the development of community profiles, trends and preferences as well as dissemination strategies, creative engagement ideas and communication approaches.
The principal focus of the Advisory Panel is to provide strategic advice and support ethical, efficient and sustainable engagement with Australia’s diverse communities when producing collateral for government, not-for-profit and community organisations clients. The Panel is a forum that aims to maintain dialogue and active partnerships between Polaron and the diverse communities it serves through the language services it offers.
We seek guidance and inspiration from the Panel with 14 community members representing a range of lived experiences. We are proud of our track record of creating language solutions with the communities we serve. When creating in-language resources, we also work with over 100 ethno-specific community organisations, community leaders, bi-lingual educators, linguists and consumers with lived and living experience.
