Sylvia Coombe

Member – Polaron’s Multicultural Advisory Panel 

Sylvia Coombe is a respected Pasifika community leader in Victoria. With over 18 years of combined experience in Quality Management and Rail Safety in the Victorian Public Rail Transportation industry and Construction, she has made significant contributions in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety for passengers and employees. In addition to her professional role, Sylvia actively volunteers and supports various state, federal, and local boards and organizations.  

She serves on peak bodies, advisory bodies, local councils, research bodies, and consultation committees such as for the PALM Scheme in Victoria, which strengthens relationships between Australia and Pacific Island countries.  

Sylvia’s commitment to community welfare extends further to her current support role in her local CFA and as a multicultural safety ambassador with the Migrant Worker Centre. These roles demonstrate her dedication to public safety, supporting local communities, and protecting the rights and safety of migrant workers. 

Sylvia Coombe’s extensive experience in quality management, her leadership roles in community associations, and her active involvement in volunteer work showcase her passion for the welfare of others and her commitment to making a positive impact in various spheres of society.
